” The World Armwrestling Federation (WAF) Executive Board condemns the Russian and Belarusian invasion of Ukraine and decided to impose sanctions to the Russian and Belarusian Armwrestling Federations.
The WAF fully support the public statement of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and stands in full solidarity with the entire international sport federations movement to stop war and restore peace.
The WAF agreed to apply the recommended by its partners measures:
- All athletes, referee, trainers and officials from Russia and Belarus will be excluded from all World Armwrestling Federation (WAF) and members events, with immediate effect, until further decision.
- Russia and Belarus will not be permitted to host, bid for, or be awarded any international armwrestling events.
- Individual athletes selected by Russia and Belarus, administrators and teams representing the Russian or Belarusian state are banned from competing in other countries.

“IFA has clearly expressed support for Ukraine and its people in this terrible situation. The war against a peaceful sovereign neighbor state is a gross violation of every kind of justice and humanity.
To clarify the consequences of this for IFA, no athletes from any Russian federation will be allowed to participate in the coming championships. We stand with Ukraine.”Matthew Paugh: What about Belarusian athletes?
