This is quite an amazing move, considering that most Russians use the social network vk.com, which in Russia is much more popular than facebook. There must be a strong reason why he chose facebook now considering that, to my knowledge, he never had a personal account on vk.com.
Maybe Alexey did this because of what happened in Russia in April 2014, when Vladimir Putin took control of VK (VKontakte / ВКонтакте) social network ► Putin Has Taken Control Of Russian Facebook.
We don’t know the reason why he did it, but we are glad he did it. Considering that he is posting some new pictures, and he also answers questions in both English and Russian language, chances are that this account really is the real deal.
We hope Alexey will change the facebook sharing settings from friends to public, so everyone could see what he is posting ► Alexey Voevoda.

“I’ve been in this sport for a long time. After learning what the WAL has planned for the future of arm wrestling, and the commitment and experience of its leadership I felt that I had to be part of it.” Larratt said.

Steve Kaplan, President and Commissioner of the WAL added, “We are extremely excited about Devon’s decision to join the WAL. Aside from being a world-class athlete and one of the biggest names in the sport, Devon possesses the integrity that we look for in our athletes. Devon will sit on our Council of Arms where he can help shape the future of the sport.”

Devon joins a growing roster of the greatest pullers in the sport who compete in the WAL, making it the largest and most competitive professional arm wrestling league in North America.
