” Stunning news from Poland

Bombshell appeared on various news sites. Yesterday, the day weighing on Nemiroff World Cup, was arrested the chief organizer of the tournament, the President PAL, President of the Polish Arm Wrestling Federation Igor Mazurenko on charges of robbery committed by him, according to investigators, the 90-ies of the last century. On it informs RIA “Novosti” with reference to the press-secretary of the Polish Police Mariusz Sokolowski.

“Igor Mazurenko was arrested in Gdansk Central Bureau of Investigation officers in plain clothes.Resistance during the arrest, he did not have, “- said Sokolowski. The detainee is suspected of robbery and weapons possession in the second half of the 90’s. Only in the case of the gang held 25 people, 17 of them are under arrest. Members of the group is also suspected in the killings.

Certainly, it is a heavy blow to the development of world armwrestling. Yes, the opening day of the World Cup in the professional, his brainchild. Igor’s contribution to the promotion of our sport is difficult to overestimate. The situation is reminiscent of what happened with the multiple world champion in arm wrestling Roman Tsindeliani. Georgian rukoborets living in America last year was also arrested on suspicion of a crime 20 years ago.

We look forward to further developments.

Ольга Седых: ” Yes, the news is stunning, to say the least, but I want to assure all that this does not affect the preparation and conduct of the tournament! The whole team is working well and smoothly, performing his duties! We must pay tribute to Igor, he managed to organize the work in such a way that all the coolest and spun properly without his personal control.
While no official statement from the police tournament organizers have been reported, the situation requires clarification. All the information upon receipt will be posted on the website Armpover.net. We all hope that this is a misunderstanding, and everything will be resolved in the best way! So if someone is trying to sabotage the World Cup, there is nothing he will not work – NEMIROFF 2012 will take place in any case! ”
