Australian Armwrestling Federation (3 February 2015):
” With the Arnold Classic Australia just under 2 months away many have been eagerly awaiting the arrival of Sarah Bäckman. It has recently been brought to our attention that due to a visa problems Sarah will not be able to make her trip to Arnolds and fulfil her seminars in Australia. Sarah has personally expressed her deepest regrets and remains confident that she can visit Australia in the near future.
With so little time remaining until the Arnolds it became a real concern we may not have enough time to arrange a replacement guest visitor but despite all this the AAF has secured another superstar. We welcome Mr Devon Larratt to our shores once again. Devon was elated to be invited to join us once again and we are most grateful to the great man. Devon is one of the most enthusiastic and passionate men regarding arm wrestling you are likely to meet with time for anyone from a beginner through to the most advanced puller. We are honoured to have him with us again and his wealth of knowledge, humble nature and addictive personality will only serve to strengthen the sport of arm wrestling in Australia.
Along with his involvement at the Arnolds, Devon will also be holding a number or seminars around Australia during his visit. The first seminar will be held in Melbourne on Tuesday 17th March followed by Perth Thursday 19th and finally in Brisbane Saturday 21st. To secure your tickets contact your state representative. Devon’s seminars are not to be missed for any puller pursuing improvement in technique, training, recovery and indeed all aspects of arm wrestling. “
Australian Armwrestling Federation (10 February 2015):

15th of November, 2014, Gold Coast. On the grounds of Conrad Jupiters, just outside its main building, an assortment of strange noises can be heard coming from one of the large marquees. From its open doors waft the strong smell of deep heat, chalk, and sweat.

The 2014 Melbourne Cup proved to be an excellent opportunity for both up-and-comers and old hands to show their metal.
The title for the 80kg right hand class was taken out by Aldo Toma, a new entrant into the rankings at 10th position (37th overall). Similarly, the title for the 80kg left hand class was won by Max Gibbins, a new entrant into the rankings at 5th position (25th overall). Two other noteworthy competitors are Rory Magnobosco and John Bowley, who took second and third respectively in both the right hand and left hand 80kg classes, continuing their steady ratings progress.
The titles for the 95kg classes were taken out by two well-known Victorians, Andrew Lea for the left hand, and Brett Coutts for the right hand. Coutts has recently returned from Lithuania, where he competed in the 36th World Armwrestling Championships and placed 8th in the senior men left 90kg class, and 11th in the senior men right 90kg class.
But Queensland’s Doug Fatafehi continued his domination of the heavyweight class, once again winning both titles for the right and left hands. Fatafehi has moved up two places in the heavyweight rankings for the left hand.

After a dominant display in 2014 peppered with plenty of smack talk and catchy hashtags (#qldcleansweep anyone?) , it was time for the Queensland armwrestlers to defend their own soil. Danny Tesch arose from the ashes after this 2012 QLD finals loss and clutched victory in a stacked class to claim his first QLD State Title, while Grant Tolentino not only dominated the 95kg right arm class, but also tried his luck against the big boys and took podium position in the super heavies left! Blue Bowen continued his hot streak winning both the left and right 80kg divisions over arch rival Sam Saffuri, and Ryan Scott yet again showed why he is Mr Consistent with runner-up positions left and right in the supers.

FitX Armwrestling Cup 2014 | Feat. Devon “No Limits” Larratt
Published on 27 Mar 2014
With the greatest armwrestler of all time John Brzenk watching intently from the stands last year, the AAF kept the momentum going by bringing another massive name on the international armwrestling scene over in the form of current world champion Devon “No Limits” Larratt. With Devon presiding over the event as honorary head referee, it was the international talent that stole the show this year with Singapore and New Zealand sweeping the 80kg and 95kg+ classes, and our own Grant Tolentino left to defend Australia’s reputation and annihilate the 95kg class.
Congratulations to the finalists of each weight class:
Middleweight 80kg:
Winner: Valen Low (SING)
Runner-up: Melvyn Lo (SING)
Heavyweight 95kg:
Winner: Grant Tolentino (AUS)
Runner-up: Leandro Jesus (ITA)
Super Heavyweight 95kg+:
Winner: Maateiwarangi Heta-morris (NZ)
Runner-up: Brett Coutts (AUS)
