This is just a preliminary posting so everyone is aware of what’s happening and can prepare accordingly. There’s cash to be won, and legends to pull. A more comprehensive release will follow mid-summer outlining all of the Supermatch competitors, as well as any other pertinent information regarding NAL qualifying.

Youth classes

Entry fees for Pro classes are $50 per arm. $25 of each Pro entry will go towards the 1st place purse in each category. The more pullers there are per class, the more the purse for the victor increases. If there are 10 pullers in a class, the first place puller will get $250. If there are 20 pullers, the first place puller will get $500.

The top FOUR finishers from each Men’s pro class at Mayhem in the Mall will qualify for the NAL Quarter Finals in Columbus, Ohio in January, with a chance to take home significantly more money if they place well there.

There are 21 (subject to change) tournaments across North America occurring on the same date, October 19. $25 from every Pro entry in all of the 21 tournaments on the continent goes into a pot that will be paid directly to the top finishing armwrestlers at both the quarter finals in Columbus, and the finals at the World Crossfit Games.

A super-tournament of this magnitude has not been seen since the Over The Top tournament in the 80’s, and we’re proud to be a part of it. The money generated by the tournaments go entirely to the armwrestlers themselves. Travis Bagent will be releasing a media packet in the coming weeks outlining the specifics of the NAL tournament.

As you can see from the teaser flyer, John Brzenk is confirmed and will pull in a supermatch left handed. He will also be pulling in the Men’s Pro 198+ class right, so start training. He won’t be the only legend who will be attending Mayhem, but I have to leave some surprises for the second release.

” John’s visit to Korea and supermatches with MLA Korea members were supposed on the biggest TV show in Korea, but it was cancelled this morning – because THE KOREAN ARMWRESTLING ASSOCIATION has visited the broadcasting company and told them MLA Korea members do not deserve to represent Korea (with threatening gesture according to producers). Members of Asian Armwrestling Association, European Armwrestling Federation, World Armwrestling Federation…what do you think about this situation? ”

” If anyone from AAF, EAF, WAF reads this, please explain how come this situations can be happening as Korea Armwreslting Association is an umbrella group of AAF, thus WAF. ”

” Yes, KAA is the recognized federation under WAF although they do not have a WAF table and do not follow WAF rules in Korea. The armwrestling community I’m running has two tables corresponding to WAF specs (Mazurenko tables) and follows WAF rules. ”

” Armwrestling in Korea is growing…and it could be recognized as a pro sport through this TV show with John Brzenk. Now, the chance is gone…and I’m not sure how long I should be waiting for another chance.

Among English-speaking tourists, popular postcards depict the station with a heavy frost on the ground, making a visual joke about “Hell frozen over.” Temperatures in Hell can reach −25 °C (−13 °F)[3] during winter. ”

It is famous for two reasons. The second reason is that Miss Universe 1990, Mona Grudt, was born and grew up in the vicinity and used this address.

Well-known arm-wrestler, one of the share-holders’ of ‘Tegeta Motors’ Company, twice world-champion in arm-wrestling Zaur Tskhadadze is among those who experienced the prison horror on their own selves. He wasn’t kept behind the rails for a long time but he went through the hardest days that were reflected on his health. He was accused of swindle and financial fraud and was detained on October 21, 2009.

Zaur Tskhadsadze: – My detention was absolutely unexpected. The whole street was closed, special squad soldiers rushed, I got tired of resisting them and finally I fell down. They attacked me, pushed me inside the car and put hand-cuffs. They took me to finance police and attempted to put shackles on my legs. They said nothing, just stood above my head, a tied man; they were armed with electric-shock and weapon. I was put in a detention center where I spent three days.

Q. – Did you have an opportunity to see a lawyer?
A. – Lawyer Giorgi Kharabadze came in and said that he was hired by my friends to protect me. How could I know that he was the Minister Adeishvili’s lawyer, managing such cases. He told me that they might want my share in ‘Tegeta’ company and advised to concede it, knowing what kind of people they were. He pushed me to concede me 21% share. I flatly refused. Prosecutor of this case was Aleko Mgeladze; they had him to fix up all filthy cases. He was the prosecutor of much-spoken-about cases of Vazagashvili, Girgvliani.

Q.- As we know, in prison you were under the hardest conditions; they were trying to break you morally.
A. – I was kept in quarantine for 19 days. Anybody who hits the place may go crazy. There were 36 of us in an 18 sq. meter cell, toilet too was there. We wished for fresh air. It was luck if the iron door was left a bit ajar. We stood on our feet. The best way out was if you dozed squatted. Just imagine, when arrested, I weighed 165 kg and became 110 in a month.[…] ”

Fabio Nimis John you had said that you peaked in your late 20s/early 30s, now you say Over the Top that means your early 20s, you have to decide my friend!!  ) just joking 🙂 you surely were more explosive when you were young with healthy joints and you had a better had control that time, but, if we talk about pure arm strength, not explosiveness, I mean hook, side pressure and toproll with the STRAPS already applied, which condition of your career would you choose as your absolute best? I personally vote for Vegas 2006 🙂 when you said that you were on a sirious mission to beat Voevoda! (who was supposed to come back in aw that year…)..

John R Brzenk Impossible for me to guess ! To many variables , strength , power , speed , mind set ,confidence, health !! There were many times I was running in all cylinders ! Can’t pick out one time to say … Oh yes , I was my best this day !

Joking aside John, if you could choose more than a option between all the best conditions you have had during your whole career in all the tournaments and supermatches you pulled, not only a single peak, would you still answer exactly the same to my question??… I WANT a real answer John  🙂 🙂

John R Brzenk My weight has been between 210 and 225 my whole life … I was probably 220 at over the top in 1986 … I might be 225 at 2006 Vegas pulling Farid ! Best shape is hard to define … I had A lot of energy to work out harder and longer when I was younger . I could pull for hours after an event and be little to no fatigue !! I had a set back in the late 80’s when I threw my shoulder out .. Tearing my labrum … Which I currently got fixed … So before that event might have been some of my strongest years on the table !
Hard to say because the amount and level might not be the same as it is today … Although maybe it was ! I’m pretty sure I had a very good level compared to the rest of the world during this period! If I had to say a specific date I would say right before I threw my shoulder out … 88 89 or so ?? I remember clearly beating Ron easily one week and then just barely getting by him two weeks later … Cleve , lupkus , Arnold , Norton ,walker … were no slouches in 86 and I think I could have been very effective against them all that year !  I had the most confidence that I could beat anyone during this time !
