Marvin Alex Cohen – the man behind the Bar Arm Wrestling Championships, besides the Over the Top movie, was also involved in the project The armwrestling match between an EAP actuated robotic arm and a human. The leader of that project was Dr. Yoseph Bar-Cohen from Jet Propulsion Laboratory, who has received NASA Honor Award Medals for Exceptional Engineering and Exceptional Technology achievements. I’m just guessing here, but I believe that the Bar name in the “World Bar Arm Wrestling Championships” is somehow connected with the name of Dr. Yoseph Bar-Cohen.
” These Champions participation was arranged thanks to Mr. Marvin Alex Cohen, who was the Technical Advisor to Warner Bros Motion Pictures in the movie “Over The Top” that is stared by Sylvester Stallone. ” So … I didn’t think this through very well .. But now I have a better handle on it 🙂 still going to give two 1999 WAF shirts away on Thursday practice . But this is what I can see … On my iPhone the order you hit like stays in order … So keep track of your number when you hit it … It should stay pretty close unless others before you unlike after liking 🙂 ??? I’ll count from the bottom up !!! And I found a cool Random number generator App that I will hit on Thursday night while being video taped … It will pick a random number between 1 and the highest number we have each week on the like counter !!! So this should be the easiest and we can have as many that want to list each week … So as Devon would say … No limits. ! ”

John Brzenk: ” I’m sorry Mike I haven’t had a chance to see the match your asking about, so I can’t comment on the technique used, or lack of it. But I would agree that injuries are more common with individuals that are strong enough to hurt themselves. In my experience weight lifters or strongmen in general that have developed great power from areas other than armwrestling, can easily pull, or break something before the average Joe would beginning in the sport. That’s why a well conditioned weight lifter should start armwrestling slowly. With a little less intensity then they are probably used to exerting. This will condition their body to this unusual motion. The more time spent on the table, the less chance these injuries will occur. As far as your question about Magnus Sammuelsons ability as an armwrestler, I don’t know. We have never met but my guess would be that with the power and speed he posses it wouldn’t take much to train that strength to work for him on the armwrestling table. “

” i can not even close my right arm after the WAF..the interesting thing was that i didnt feel big injury when my matches were over but once it got cold i realised the damage..i couldnt pull the final match if i would have been in the finals..Janis would win anyways, but i didnt feel bad in this competetion even though on the result it looks bad..with 1 more win i would be medalist both in right & left but ended up 13. and 10. :)) i liked the event !!! “

Engin Terzi Janis has won 3 out of last 4 WAFs and you saw him against Devon (even though he was tired)…looks like you just want to encourage me John..i would not be afraid to pull anyone who weighs same as me as long as my elbow is not killing me..you saw i could not even break the balls when we played pool..so elbow is unpredictable, today is feeling OK but tomorrow is full of pain..if Janis agrees then i would pull him in october but i can promise of pulling right after WAF depending on how elbow will feel..
