INTERVIEW: Devon Larratt about Top 16 │ by Аrtur Grigorian

Devon Larratt – NO LIMIT │ Photo Source: Jamieson Lalande [edited by XSportNews.com]

TOP-16 is ahead. You will take part in the project. Tell us about it in details.

TOP-16… I am very excited and very glad at the same time that I will participate. Now I can say for sure that I am not sitting idly by, so I will be ready for everything.

The armfight between Tsyplenkov and you is coming next year. What do you think, could you overcome Denis?

I am ready to fight with Denis in left hand. My right will be ready for the TOP-16 start. I will use all my potential to win with Denis.

Your victory over Zhokh was confident, but many people still give first round to Oleg. Do you want to meet again with Zhokh in an armfight?

I’d like to fight with Oleg once again. He is a very talented young man. We both weren’t fresh when we fought in Vegas. If there will be another armfight between us, it will erase all doubts.

Whom would you like to fight most of all?

I’d like to fight with Tsyplenkov, Usmanli and Binnie in left hand. And it would be interesting to fight with Tsyplenkov and Usmanli too and Voyevoda and Todd

First round bouts : 1 vs. 2, 3 vs. 4, 5 vs. 6, etc.

PAL – Professional Armwrestling League:

TOP 16 RULES PT. II

Today we present more of the rules for TOP 16.

The whole tournament is going to be played by the classic cup ladder system. One loss ends a fight, with one exception. Those who lost in first round will go on to fight in play – offs. In the play – offs the contestants will fight for a chance to start in the next TOP 16 tournament. Those will be the 8 who lost in the first round.
The fighters will be divided into 4 pair, and the winners (same rules apply – armfight to 4 wins) will win a start in the next TOP 16. Those who lose will be replaced by the ones from the reserves list.
Two TOP 16 tournaments will be played in 2014, each of them consisting of 4 rounds. The tournament will begin in May and end in December.
The planned location of the tournament is Las Vegas, but there is also a chance it will take place in other locations around the world. Which ones? That’s a surprise?

INTERVIEW: Dave Chaffee about Top 16 and Game of Arms │ by Iza Małkowska

Dave Chaffee with his son (28 November 2013) │ Photo Source: Heather Chaffee

What do you expect from entering the TOP 16?

I expect to come in as prepared as I possibly can be. I expect there will be a lot of surprises and upsets that nobody thought would happen. I expect the event to be the most incredible event ever assembled! Igor’s events are second to none!

Is entering the TOP 16 distinguishing to you? A chance to advance in the world of armwrestling?

Absolutely it is! If I win and keep my elbows on the pad this time against Denis, than I will become the number one in the world! That is my main focus! But there are so many other competitors that are involved, that can not be taken lightly. It wont be an easy road to Victory.

If not TOP 16, then what?

For me , I am involved in the Game of Arms, a reality TV show that is filming now and will be airing on the AMC network in February. It’s a show about the lives of the members of 5 arm wrestling teams competing to be the best. Very exciting to be a part of this.

Is TOP 16 going to witness the great return of A.Voyevoda? Do you think he’ll manage to stand up to the top armwrestlers?

Alexey Voevoda was awesome! I hope to pull him as well. Do I think he can compete with the best today? Not until he starts eating meat again!
