DISABLED WEIGHT DIVISIONS
TOP 3 IN ALL THESE DIVISIONS QUALIFY FOR THE 2015 WORLD GAMES IN SOCHI, RUSSIA
**All Disabled Athletes must supply the tournament directors a physician’s statement confirming their disability. In addition, all wheelchair bound athletes must supply a statement from a physician verifying their current weight.

Physically Impaired (Wheelchair Confined)
Men’s Right & Left hand: 55kg, 65kg, 75kg, 75+kg
Ladies Right & Left Hand: 65kg, 65+kg

Physically Impaired Standing Athletes:
Men’s Right & Left: 60kg, 70kg, 80kg, 90kg, 90+kgLadies Right & Left Hand: 65kg, 65kg+

Visually Impaired or Deaf Athletes:
Men’s Right & Left Hand: 63kg, 70kg, 78kg, 86kg, 86+kg ”

It is with great pleasure that IWAS can announce the 2015 World Games has been awarded to Sochi, Russia

Our member organisation the Russian Sports Federation for Persons with Physical Disabilities has been successful in its bid to host the IWAS World Games for 2015.

DATES: September 26th – October 3rd

Following the successful final site visit during August 2014, IWAS Games Technical Manager Jan Bockweg reported his findings for the Games to be held in the city of Sochi.

Sochi which hosted the 2014 Winter Olympic and Paralympics has set itself above many cities to offer a barrier free location with inclusive design for both sport venues and accommodation.

International Wheelchair and Amputee Sport Federation (IWAS) and the International Armwrestling Federation for Disabled (IAFD) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Friday (5 December), agreeing a historic partnership on the promotion and coordination of armwrestling for disabled persons.
The Memorandum was signed by IWAS President Paul Depace and IAFD President Alexander Filimonov.
Armwrestling was included to 2015 IWAS World Games that will be held in Sochi, Russia from 26 September to 3 October. ”

” Disabled Armwrestling
The USAA, in conjunction with IAFPPD (International Association for Persons with Physical Disabilities), headed by Alexander Filimonov, will be holding qualifying events for the 2015 IWAS World Games in Sochi, Russia. This is the first year that Armwrestling has been included in the World Games. The qualifying athletes will be the only Disabled Team to represent the United States at the World Games.
These events are scheduled as follows:
Friday May 1st, 2015 at the Europa Games in Orlando
Friday June 9th, 2015 at the Europa Games in Dallas, Texas
Friday August 28th at the Europa Games/USAA National Pro-Am in Atlantic City

The 2015 IWAS World Games are scheduled for September 26th – October 3rd,2015 in Sochi, Russia.
Later today I will post all the divisions for the Physically Disabled, Hearing Impaired and Blind athletes.
