UPDATE: Nikoloz Matiashvili was added to the list. Niko will enter the -76 kg class. Janis Amolins announced he will also enter the -76 kg category instead of the -86 kg category.

UPDATE 5 (FINAL UPDATE): Pascal Girard and other armwrestlers were added to the competitors list. Claudio Rizza – the President of the Italian Armwrestling Federation, told Ciprian Valean that very many Italian armwrestlers will come to X-MEN ARMWRESTLING ITALY 2014. Many of them are not on this competitors list because of the communication barrier, but they will come to the tournament. XSportNews will take a 5 day break, see you at  🙂

Stefan Tamas Vs. Nikoloz Matiashvili

VIDEOS: Nikoloz Matiashvili preparing for the 34th World Armwrestling Championships 2012

 

A rumor says that the Georgian Nikoloz Matiashvili ( Niklas Matiashvili / Nicklas Matiashvili ) went home to Georgia from The United Kingdom, where he lived in the past years. The rumor says that in Georgia Matiashvili already won his weight category at the nationals and also the overall class (UPDATE: Vasili Dautashvili won the overalls, thanks to George Chochia for the info).

Although Matiashvili in the last years could not go to the worlds / europeans championships, he kept on training and now he is in a very good shape. This year Matiashvili will go to the 34th World Armwrestling Championships 2012 in São Vicente, São Paulo, Brazil. There he will enter the same weight category as Khadzimurat Zoloev, hoping that he will won the world title.

In this quest for the world title Matiashvili will be helped by his sponsor, Killy.

Please keep in mind that the strong guy who reached the finals with Matiashvili is the romanian Stefan Tamas, he weighs less than 90kg but he is one of the best romanian armwrestlers overall. Last year at the romanian nationals, although he had less than 90kg, Stefan Tamas entered the 100kg category in order to meet the legendary Ion Oncescu. Stefan Tamas almost won that match:
