Devon Larratt - the No. 1 ranked armwrestler in the world, with BOTH arms!

Interview: Devon Larratt on Armpower.NET │30 December 2012

Devon Larratt VS. Andrey Pushkar │ ARMFIGHT #42 – VENDETTA IN VEGAS – 28-06-2012
Devon Larratt VS. Andrey Pushkar │

Armpower.NET:

” Hi Devon! Which performance are you most proud of?

The victory I am most proud of is when I beat Ron Bath in 2006.

As an athlete – how do you assess your performance in the passing year?
This was a difficult year for me, facing my injury and working on putting it into a good place, this has been my main focus this past year.. I expect it will continue that way for some time still…

Do you feel unsatisfied about anything?
The only regrets I have in this sport are that I feel that I put too much pressure on myself to do well at the beginning of my training. I believe I should of stayed in my weight class a bit longer, allowed my arm to mature more slowly.

Which competitor surprised you this year?
The only thing that I can say is surprising to me right now is that I feel there is a grassroots increase right now in the A.W. world. I don’t think it has been that way for a while. So I guess it is more that there are a lot of new up and coming armwrestlers that are doing very well.

Has any tournament, event, competition made a big impression on you?
The developments in Europe professionally – A1 is great news for the future of professional Armwrestling, and the trend for WAF to become more highly valued due to government recognition, and many countries taking steps in that direction.

Which fight, which competitors do you consider the best this year?
Michael Todd, Denis Cyplenkov, Andrey Pushkar in the open, Todd Hutchings had a great year (to bad about his injury.. I feel his pain loll!!). Any woman from Sweden, of course Zoloev. There are many guys in the shadows in this sport.. these are of course the ones we see more…

What are your plans for 2013?

I would love to due more one on ones, but if this seems to fade, I will hit tournaments.

Who would you like to fight with?

Left hand – ANYBODY!!! Highest I would say – Denis, Genadi, and Wagner. Right hand .. not ready yet for anybody.. lol .. in time I will be ready.

Best regards on behalf of the readers.
Thank you very much, and all the best for all Armwrestlers.

Denis Cyplenkov

Interview: Denis Cyplenkov on Armpower.NET │28 December 2012

Denis Cyplenkov
Denis Cyplenkov winner of

Armpower.NET:

” Denis Cyplenkov hasn’t shown up too often at the table this year. He only took part in the tournament “A1” and … entered politics.

Is it going to be like that forever? Let’s ask.

Hi Denis, how would you assess the passing year?

Denis Cyplenkov (well-known for talking a lotwink)

Very well! I participated in the “A1” and I’m happy with the result.

Why do you take part in the tournaments so rarely?

Denis: Now I’ve got a lot of work related to my political activity for the local government in one of the districts of Moscow.

Does this mean that you’re giving up participating in tournaments?

Denis: No, but I choose only the “treats”.

Do you have the time to train?

Denis: I’m always in shape!

So what are your plans for 2013?

Denis: For sure I will participate in the “A1” again. My duties allow me to participate in two or three events a year. So, if you have some other, interesting suggestion, let me know. I’m waiting!

Sure! We wish you a healthy, fruitful and prosperous year full of success. Happy New Year!

Denis: Thank you! I wish all the best to the readers of armpower.net, fans, and all those to whom Armwrestling means a lot!

Australian Armwrestling Federation:

” After over 6 hours of intense battles, major upsets, and long-time rivalries, the 2nd Australian Armwrestling Championships is now done and dusted for another year with new champions emerging from all states present.

We know everyone is hanging out for the videos but first things first, the results from the day. Congratulations to our new National Champions in their respective weight classes, Amir Singh, Grant Tolentino, Phil Rasmussen, Ryan Phillips, Sam Saffuri, Jamie Carle, Ryan Scott, Matt Bacon, Adam Laura, and our first female champion Kortney Olsen. And of course a big congratulations to our 2 overall class winners Matt Bacon and Jamie Carle you showed without a doubt that WA is a force in armwrestling right now and we look forward to seeing a big WA contingent in 2013. We thank all competitors from interstate for your time and dedication in travelling across the country, it’s the competitors that ultimately make the competition and WA/QLD/NSW all represented their states superbly though i think NSW takes the award for team camaraderie and sheer numbers 🙂

No competition of this size is possible without hard work and tireless efforts behind the scenes and on the day, so a huge thanks goes out to Ben Crowley and his team at Bulk Nutrients for organising such fantastic prize bags for all competitors and winners and flying up from Tasmania to attend and present awards at the competition. Amy Kauler for not only scoring on the day but for all graphic design, branding, and venue preparations you did an amazing job of creating such a professional looking event. Professor Ron Laura for generously giving up his time to travel down from Sydney to MC the entire event. Brendan Downes for his fantastic and tireless efforts as Head Referee which is a stressful job even at the best of times, and his lovely wife Kirsty who organised the canteen and served everyone refreshments throughout the day while juggling 3 kids. And last but certainly not least Lee Dobson for your assistance in scoring and preparing the draws, Ryan Phillips for getting up at 5am to help setup the venue with us and take registrations while attempting to drop weight for competition, and Jesse Johnson for his 10 months of hard work in making what is easily the best competition armwrestling table in the Southern hemisphere! “

” 24/12/2012

December 22, 2012 in Kiev, Dance & Karaoke Club «Manilow”, was already traditional tournament armsportu “Kozatsky force.” From year to year the best organization attracts top athletes from all over Ukraine. Again, despite the snow and freezing temperatures, about 80 athletes competed in the day for the medals and cash prizes. The tournament was held in the fight for the right hand in six weight divisions, namely absolyutka women and 70 kg, 80 kg, 90 kg, 90 kg and absolyutka men. It was nice that the tournament came armsportu stars such as Andrey Pushkar, Viktor Ilyushin, Sergey Tokarev, Taras Ivakin. This increased the prestige of action and gives hope that the audience will see a real struggle professionals.
A small number of participants – 6 athletes in the open category for women – does not facilitate the task of winning medals. Number of offset quality. Although a clear favorite of all was the same – it is a multiple world champion, Merited Master of Sports Viktor Ilyushin from Kharkov. But, as it turned out, her victory in the tournament was given easy, as its main rival, the sportswoman of Vinnitsa Dyachenko Oksana still managed to stop the attack Victoria. Their fights seemed not like a woman prolonged and persistent, like, and fight for the semi-finals between athletes Rozhischenko Irina from Kiev and Ternovskaya Marina from Odessa. In professional and spectacular game won by Irina.Women in the day, of course, pleased with the level of their training and the mood to fight, to watch their fights were interesting. In total, were distributed as follows:
1 – Viktor Ilyushin
2 – Dyachenko Oksana
3 – Irina Rozhischenko
In the largest category – 70 kg for men – serving 23 athlete. Were able to reach to the top of the following athletes:
1 – Michael Novak
2 – Vladimir Gnatenko
3 – Arthur Musayelyan
as calm was not in the category of 80 kg in men, each of the 18 athletes trying to show everyone what he can do. Places won:
1 – Sergei Pankovets
2 – Cherpita Bogdan
3 – Zheltonozhko Oleksandr
the category of 90 kg in the day was declared 11 people, but it was different participation in it several top athletes, on “Cossack force” arrived: multiple world champion armsportu, honored Master of Sports of Kharkov Taras Ivakin, silver medalist of the World Cup this year, among the professionals in the 86 kg category Mher Musayelyan from Nikolayev, Odessa hope federation armsport, winner of several tournaments last Ukrainian Margarint Peter. The intrigue is that no one knew in what form came Taras Ivakin and between Mher Musaelyan and Peter Magrarintom armfayt recently passed, which won a surprise victory Peter. Who was this “Bermuda Triangle” will be the winner?Especially since you can not shoot off the other athletes, because everyone came to win. From this confrontation came undefeated Mher Musayelyan he convincingly defeated Peter and Taras. Maybe this was affected by that Mher first performed with weight 87 kg. And the story that happened to him at Nemiroff, where he did not drive away the only 200 grams, was not included in the planned 78 kg category and fought to a category above – 86 kg, and spoke well, but was exhausted race weight, led him to believe in themselves and act in a more heavy weight category.
1 – Mher Musayelyan
2 – Taras Ivakin
3 – Peter Margarint
+ 90 kg decorated two Ukrainian super giant, two distinguished master of sports, one of the best world armsportsmenov Andrey Pushkar and Sergey Tokarev. And I think no one in doubt that all of the other 13 participants in this category will compete for the bronze medal. It happened. Andrei gold, silver, Sergei, well, and in the fight for the bronze unbeaten winner kievlyanin Dmitry Bondarenko.
1 – Andrey Pushkar
2 – Sergey Tokarev
3 – Dmitry Bondarenko
armsportivnogo most interesting event of the festival was the absolute category. 12 best of the best athletes championship meet, no matter the status or the weight categories. As in the heavyweight division, the first two places were for the multiple world champion and European champion Andrey Pushkar world Sergey Tokarev. But the fight for the bronze turned serious. Here in severe and persistent bouts, especially in the fight for the semi-finals, a victory could win a world-class athlete, world vice-champion in 2001 Andrei Sharkov from Simferopol, who after many years returned to the big armsport, and as we can see, quite successfully.
1 – Andrey Pushkar
2 – Sergey Tokarev
3 – Andrei Sharkov
organizers awarded cash prizes, to the delight of the participants, the top five.
At the end, all pleased and surprised Andrey Pushkar, which in the eyes of the astonished audience could twist the two nails in a knot Sotk .
I would like to express my gratitude to people who have held the tournament “Kozatsky force”, as he was again on the level: the president of the federation armsportu Dzisyak Vlad, vice-president of the federation armsportu Kirilyuk Dmitry, secretary of the federation armsportu Rzheschenko Irina for working in their New Year’s holiday armsportivny .     Photos from the event HERE .
