World Armwrestling League:

We’re proud to announce that Devon Larratt is part of the World Armwrestling League family.

“I’ve been in this sport for a long time. After learning what the WAL has planned for the future of arm wrestling, and the commitment and experience of its leadership I felt that I had to be part of it.” Larratt said.

Steve Kaplan, President and Commissioner of the WAL added, “We are extremely excited about Devon’s decision to join the WAL. Aside from being a world-class athlete and one of the biggest names in the sport, Devon possesses the integrity that we look for in our athletes. Devon will sit on our Council of Arms where he can help shape the future of the sport.”

Devon joins a growing roster of the greatest pullers in the sport who compete in the WAL, making it the largest and most competitive professional arm wrestling league in North America.

Many thanks to Alan Guerra – from Brazo Regio Team for this video from the Mexico National Championships 2014 which took place on 19 July 2014 in Toluca, Estado de México, Mexico.
The guys in red shirts are armwrestlers from the Brazo Regio Team: Juan Gaya, Ramiro Cantu, Reynaldo Cantu and Alan Guerra. Juan Gaya won the -75 kg (16 competitors), Reynaldo Cantu took 2nd place in -95 kg class (14 competitors), and Alan Guerra won the -105kg and +105kg class (10 competitors in each class).

Meet 25 year old Maksim Taubin, we have chosen “Maks” because his passion, dedication and drive has moved him through some serious hurdles in life. Maks is a Russian Immigrant that came to the US at the age of 12, he has since earned a degree in Nutrition from Florida State University. Maks fell in love with the sport of Armwrestling back in 2012 when he got 3rd place at the Europa Armwrestling Championships (novice class). He is relatively new to the sport and after speaking with Maks about whats he’s been through, his outlook on life and positive attitude the committee, Bill and I (Robert Drenk) have decided he’s the ONE! Maks is the 1st of 5 to get a paid trip to UAL 8 – Congrats Maks you’ve touched us with your Story and outlook on life. See you at UAL 8

UAL 8 in one week … And I have to say being a BIG man is so uncomfortable I can hardly stand it anymore. Stuck at 244lbs and I can’t reach my shoelaces 🙂
This will be the last time I attempt such a crazy task !
What ever happens this weekend I’m officially done pretending I’m a monster 🙂

This wasn’t an accident,  is very strong (I made the player start at the first match, the second match is at the end of the video).
UPDATE: The guy from the second video is actually Sergey Evtushenko, who took 3rd place in SENIOR MEN LEFT 100 – RESULTS: A1 Russian Open 2014 (thanks for the info to Ti An).
UPDATE 2: Zoloev competed and won the SENIOR MEN RIGHT 80 before entering the OPEN Class. Dmitriy Silaev only entered the OPEN, because there was no class heavier than 100kg and the rules allowed any registered competitor to enter the open. Silaev’s name is not on the results list, because only names of the Top 8 finalists of the OPEN class were published RESULTS: A1 Russian Open 2014.
In 2011 Dmitriy Silaev became the world champion in the Boys Right 80+ class, although at Euroarm 2011 he took 2nd place after Adrian Laurus in the Junior Men Right +80.
