Dave Devoto had a huge contribution to the developing of modern armwrestling. Dave Devoto together with Bill Soberanes founded (in 1961/1962) the World Wristwrestling Championships.

Thanks to Dave Devoto, armwrestling was televised by ABC for 16 years (1969-1984) during the Wide World of Sports – World’s Wristwrestling Championship show.
