Episode # 20
On Arm Wrestling Nation Radio this Sunday Sept 29th at 8 pm E.S.T my guest will be Neil Pickup live from Vegas at Arm Wars. UAL puller’s Jake Smith and Jamie Sheldon will also be joining me for this jammed packed show.

-1. How much time do you spend training and how did you get to know this sport and be interested in it?
I started armwrestling by invitation of a former athlete when I was 12 and I knew nothing about it. Today I spend around 1,5 hour a day during the week (lifting weights) and 2,5hours on Saturdays (just rope and table training)-2. What armwrestler do you admire most and why?
As most of us I learned really early how to admire John Brzenk and had the opportunity to meet him and be even more of a fan as he is such a nice guy. Other than him, I’m a fan of all armwrestlers who are humble and always willing to learn.-3. What are your expectations in this sport?
I learned that in this sport is hard to get to the top, but its even harder to keep yourself up there. You become a target to others and you have to always push yourself harder to go beyond your limits and keeping winning. So I really want to continue to be World Champion and if possible participate in more than 1 international Championship per year (like A1, Nemiroff and others like these).-4. What other sport do you practice?
None. I practiced Gymnastics for 10 years, 3 of them while I was beginning in armwrestling. I love this sport and I’m in touch with it since I was 5. Now I teach gymnastics.-5. What advice would you give to the young boys and girls who start with this sport?
I would say that for any sport: know your limits, dedicate yourself and have discipline if you want to go far. Then work really hard for it and don`t give up!!-6. Apart from this sport… what other objectives do you have for your future?
I want to travel the world – preferable with someone special (thanks to armwrestling I’ve been to a few countries already), get married, build a family… mostly normal wishes.-7. What armwrestling technique do you think is the best?
It depends on where you are stronger and on your opponent. A good armwrestler has options to lean on.-8. What has been your worst disappointment in this sport?
I sometimes think I chose the wrong sport as in Brazil we have soo little support and media space. Most of Brazilians don’t know the sport or it`s athletes and sometimes I even joke I`m famous in Sweden (after beating Sarah) but no one knows me in Brazil. This is just a fragment, read the full interview on: spainarmwrestler.blogspot.com.es

-1. How much time do you spend training and how did you get to know this sport and be interested in it?
I am constantly thinking about this sport. It rarely leaves my mind for long. I train as much as i think i can handle which will vary. I grew up with armwrestling. with my family, and with my schoolmates. I discovered the “real” sport when i was working in the oilfield when i was 18 years old.-2. What armwresther do you admire most and why?
I really am a fan of so many armwrestlers, and don’t really want to single anyone out. I try to appreciate the diversity in the sport. Generally I like prefer people who really enjoy and are good at armwrestling if i could be vague.-3. What are your expectations in this sport?
I expect to be involved in one way or another for my whole life. I will compete as long as i can, at whatever level i can manage, train, and move more into promotion as time goes on.-4. What other sport do you practice?
I love to play games. Some i make up myself lol.. i have played alot of basketball, and used to do a little MMA, I have dabbled in many sports. These days i am loving ping pong!!-5. What advice would you give to the young boys and girls who start with this sport?
Be patient. Be consistent. Be diverse. Keep your body balanced. Prioritize table training above all other exercises. Find others who love armwrestling- train/discuss/compete together.-6. Apart from this sport… what other objectives do you have for your future?
Be a good father, Squeeze as much out of life as possible.-7. What armwrestling technique do you think is the best?
There is one style or move that will likely be best against one opponent, but i believe that the best technique is diversity.-8. What has been your worst dissapointment in this sport?
Having surgury on my right elbowThis is just a fragment, read the full interview on: spainarmwrestler.blogspot.com.es

Rep. Dana Rohrabacher: I arm-wrestled Vladimir Putin … and lost!
On Thursday, KPCC’s Washington correspondent Kitty Felde talked with Congressman Dana Rohrabacher about the Russian proposal on Syria on chemical weapons, of which he very much approves. He also thinks that the Russians should be consulted and take a larger role.
” We all ended up going to this Irish Times Pub afterwards. And we were having a little bit too much to drink, I guess. Anyway, we started arguing about who won the Cold War, etc. And so we decided to settle it like men do when they’ve had too much to drink in the pub. So we got to these arm wrestling matches, and I ended up being paired off with Putin. He’s a little guy, but boy, I’ll tell yea. He put me down in a millisecond! He is tough. His muscles are just unbelievable. ”
