VIDEO: Get rid of Elbow Pain – Release Pronator Teres Muscle

Pain in elbow from armwrestling movements is nothing new. We all have experienced different kind of pain in elbow joint sometimes it`s tendons but sometimes its one or many of muscles involved in movement. With this video we are starting series that focus on things that could cause pain in elbow. Today we are talking about muscle named Pronator Teres. it`s main function is to pronate arm and flex elbow. Sometimes from all pronation and elbow flexion this muscle can get tight and shorten what you need to do is to release it with trigger point active release techniques. you need to release it. It can cause pain in medial epicondylus and in muscles surrounding your elbow, also numbness in fingers. All symptomes can cause something called Pronator Teres Syndrome.

Pronator teres syndrome

Pronator teres syndrome is a compression neuropathy of the median nerve at the elbow. It is rare compared to compression at the wrist (carpal tunnel syndrome) or isolated injury of the anterior interosseous branch of the median nerve (anterior interosseous syndrome).

The most common cause is entrapment of the median nerve between the two heads of the pronator teres muscle. Other causes are compression of the nerve from the fibrous arch of the flexor superficialis, or the thickening of the bicipital aponeurosis.

The median nerve passes through the cubital fossa and passes between the two heads of pronator teres muscle into the forearm. It then runs between flexor digitorum superficialis and flexor digitorum profundus muscles and enters the hand through the carpal tunnel.

Pronator Teres Muscle

The pronator teres has two heads—humeral and ulnar.

The median nerve enters the forearm between the two heads of the muscle, and is separated from the ulnar artery by the ulnar head.

The muscle passes obliquely across the forearm, and ends in a flat tendon, which is inserted into a rough impression at the middle of the lateral surface of the body of the radius, just distal to the insertion of the supinator.

The lateral border of the muscle forms the medial boundary of the triangular hollow known as the cubital fossa, which is situated anterior to the elbow.

Arm Wrestling Muscle

Take a look at the following picture of two men arm wrestling, paying close attention to the position of the forearm of the person who is winning this match.

What Does the Pronator Teres Do?

The name of the pronator teres gives away its function. Pronation refers the inward rotation of a body part towards the middle of the body. Since the pronator teres is located in the forearm, its function is to rotate (pronate) the forearm inward. Think back to the arm wrestling example from the beginning of the lesson; an arm wrestler must internally rotate (pronate) their forearm in order to pin the arm of their opponent.

The pronator teres is not only used during arm wrestling; this muscle is used hundreds of times each day. Performing simple tasks like brushing your teeth, combing your hair, and eating all require forearm pronation, and therefore require the use of the pronator teres. The pronator teres also functions to flex the forearm, which involves bending the arm at the elbow joint.

VIDEO OF RELEASE TECHNIQUES

VIDEO: Get rid of pain from ARMWRESTLING in middle of your upper arm (brachialis) with stretches and myofascial release techniques.

Have you experienced pain in middle of your upper arm after armwrestling  in a brachialis muscle. From all the rotation and tension that is put on this muscle sometimes it will tighten up and won`t let go. Stretching this muscle is almost impossible but you can try (for stretching scroll down). If stretching won`t work try release techniques used in video (scroll down).  We use these techniques  to get rid of pain in upper arm or brachialis muscle.  We recommend you to invest in foam roller or physio ball (tennis ball will do it). Injuries can put you back by weeks or even years and your armwrestling career will suffer. This muscle is important to Load-up and Toproll or basically all armwrestling movements. Keep your arms healthy and your Toproll and Hook pain free.

The brachialis (brachialis anticus)

The brachialis is a long and strong muscle of the upper arm. It originates at the distal half of the anterior side of the humerus. In addition, the origin tendon attaches to the medial and lateral intermuscular septa of the arm, two dividing membranes separating the flexor from the extensor muscles. Distally the muscle inserts at the tuberosity of the ulna where its’ fibers are also connected to the joint capsule.

Brachialis Function

The primary function of the brachialis muscle is to flex the forearm. Flexion of the forearm is the same motion used to perform bicep curls, which involves bringing the hand upward by bending at the elbow. Contrary to what you might think, the brachialis is actually stronger than the biceps brachii and functions as the primary flexor of the forearm.

You perform forearm flexion constantly each day. For example, you must flex your forearm in order to armwrestle, eat, drink, brush your teeth, and bathe (imagine trying to perform all these daily tasks without bending your elbows). Because the brachialis muscle is used so frequently, it oftentimes becomes irritated, inflamed, or damage from overuse.

VIDEO with Release techniques.

Some of You will need to do this only one time but some will have to work on it. When you do any of these release techniques don`t do any armwrestling or exercises that cause pain. Doing more exercises or armwrestling will stop healing processes. Once pain is gone go back to armwrestling.

Try stretching together with release techniques

Standing Stretch

Step 1

Stand in a doorway with your shoulders parallel to the doorway’s opening.

Step 2

Reach straight to the side and slightly back to grasp the doorjamb at shoulder level with your right hand. Back further away from the doorjamb, if necessary, so you can fully straighten your right arm.

Step 3

Turn your body slowly toward the left until you feel a stretch in your upper right arm. Hold the stretch for 15 to 30 seconds, breathing normally, then switch to the other side. Do the stretch a total of three to five times on each side.

Seated Stretch

Step 1

Sit down on the floor. Straighten both arms, and plant your hands on the floor behind you, slightly wider than your hips. Turn your hands so your fingers point straight back.

Step 2

Scoot your hips slowly forward, keeping your weight evenly distributed, until you feel mild tension in your biceps and brachialis. You might feel a stretch across your chest, too.

Step 3

Hold the stretch for 15 to 30 seconds, breathing normally, then scoot your hips back toward your hands to release the stretch. Repeat a total of three to five times.

” No, it probably wont CURE tendonitis. But Lindsay Taylor referred to it as “black magic” even before I told her that Kelly Starret called it voodo. Had a football player preparing for the NFL combine that had been inhibited by tendonitis in his knee for a about 6 months go totally pain free with a greatly improved range of motion in the less than 5 minutes that it took to do this. From what I understand, this originally came from Donny Thompson. It works, try it. ”

In the September issue of Men’s Health (on sale from August 19) you will find five stories about the exploits of a man on the cover – bobsleigh Alexei governor, our Olympic champion. Have appendage five stories from the life of Alexis, which will help you to better understand what kind of man he.

Author: Anton Ivanov

As governor sought justice

Even on a large force there is another force, especially when the yard dashing 90. Alex had to play and in fights, such as the one where he has been 15 bullies. “They beat me and kicked, but I’m strong, so that the bruising was not special. In Sochi, at the time, as elsewhere in the country, enough people who wanted to be like the coolest kids. I am not of those who go to the gym – there is just all the guys were normal. I am of those who like a bird all day sitting here and there with a cigarette and a bottle of vodka. “ All of these “out of the area you are?” and “Come here!” hard bored Alexei, he decided to put in his hometown and after the procedure School went to enter the Rostov police academy.

“It’s not even funny, but I was overwhelmed by physical education. I say: “Comrade Majori, I’m the best ever made, you will cover me at least for dictation or something.” And he says: “You know, the guy you’re good, but … sometimes the question is decided by money.” After these words, I have not wanted to come to this university. I went to physical culture institute, where he received his higher education and even almost finished graduate school. “Almost” because my supervisor suddenly accused of economic crimes and began to pull the chain of command, and he did not resist and soon died. It’s a pity he was a good man. It is a pity that never saw the light of his thesis, “Prospects for the development of infrastructure Resorts of the North Caucasus as an example the construction of the bobsleigh track in Sochi.”

As governor guard worked

Epic heroes usually went to Kiev where he arranged for the prince in the squad, Alex is 17 years old began working in conservation. “I worked there for a long time and quickly became assistant chief of staff selection. I usually recruited boys from the same sports fans like me. The fact that these people have developed a habit to build a clear system to achieve the goals and the steps to go to her. Roughly speaking, if you want to lift 200 kg, you formulate this goal and makes the training plan, putting into it and the possible force majeure. Such thinking helps then in different spheres of life to achieve success. That’s my former colleagues on the protection now quite successful people. I myself have worked and personal bodyguard, and the collector. I learned to see where there may be a danger, and to do so that she did not had a chance to appear in my life. “

As governor of the disease healed

If Alexei childhood and was the idol and favorite character – that is his grandfather-athlete in the village in which he spent every summer. Grandfather was a hero, and in fact: the war in intelligence to rescue fellow soldiers, called the fire itself, but not killed, ran so fast that it caught up with him only one bullet – breaking cartridge shattered his knee, but even on one leg he kakim- incredible way uprygal two pursuing his fascists.

“After the injury grandfather was not the knee, the leg he always hurt. But he was a man of courage and mind did not serve. However, I have learned to understand when it became just too painful. Usually he was always in a good mood, but if it is spoiled, I knew a sore leg. And then I noticed that when I put my grandfather crossed hands, the pain he goes through. Later I have learned from my grandmother heartburn shoot. I remember, I was then very interested in these abilities, just more time, it was a – the beginning of the 90’s, on TV – Kashpirovskiy on videotape – “Warlock” … I got a lot of books on these topics to read. “

As governor of the mind-the mind has gathered

The fact that Alex likes to read, you already know it’s time to find out what he likes to read.

* “The origins of heroism. Secrets of athleticism, “Lavrov, Y. Shaposhnikov. – “A book that gives a correct understanding.”

* “Theory adequate (species) food,” AM Coal. – “The author – a wonderful gastroenterologist, who opened the membrane digestion and explained why people – frugivorous.”

* “The ancient history of Russia until 1054.”, MV Lomonosov. – “The brilliant Russian scientist has collected in this book all that he seemed helpful, from the history of doryurikovskih times.”

As governor back treated

“In the two years before the Olympics, I am so ripped off his back that barely went, but he was able to fully recover in three weeks with the help of the health – ancient Slavic gymnastics. I advise everyone, for example, such an exercise.

1) You lay down on your stomach (your feet together, hands together, too, and stretched forward over the head).

2) is lifted from the floor hands and feet, the maximum pulling them.

3) Start slowly (this is important) to rotate to the right or to the left, holding the most elongated limbs and tending upwards (that is, you find yourself on the side, and his arms and legs still look up, roll over on his back – the same thing, then on the other side – arms and legs still look up for a second and not touching the ground).

This exercise you activate mikromyshechny machine that makes the spine from hernias and diseases pulls flattened disks. After that feel back quite differently. “

Alexei himself will show you the technique of this exercise.
